What is FreeHorseArt? It is a collection of horse character art that is free for use by you!

These images can be download and uploaded as you please- but please do not market them as your own images. You can use them as inspiration for your own characters or coat patterns, or color the line art yourself.


What can I do with it?
Simple! Download the PNG image and upload to Photobucket or another image hosting site, then use it as a character image for role-playing, story writing, or other equine games.

Are there any restrictions?
Yes, thanks for asking! Please do NOT use this art for the Horse Art RPG, (the game started by ) as the game forbids the use of other people's line art. Please do NOT sell this art, as it is free for everyone.

Can I request a certain breed/coat/pattern etc?
Sure! Doesn't mean I'll make it, but you can always ask by commenting on the front page or sending a note.

Do I have to link back here?
It would be nice if you did

What are the file formats?
At the moment all files will be PNG for easy use with multiple backgrounds and such. (This means the uncolored part of the image will be clear= no cropping!)

Who started this club?
started this version of it, though there may be more like it on DA.

How do I submit art?
At this time, I'm not accepting art from other users. The idea of letting someone else do what they like with your art is still scary to a lot of equine artists and I'd rather not end up with unhappy people.

Will this encourage art theft?
In my gallery, the most viewed images are my free Pern templates. Does that encourage theft of dragon-related images? No. With any luck this will provide a place for young horse enthusiasts to get free art without stealing it.

Your arts are ugly. Will there be anything better in the future?
Hopefully so! What's up now are unused character images from my own brainstorming. As I create more line arts and color them, the club will be updated. However you're still stuck with me as the artist, as I'm not sure how the horse community here would react to me soliciting free art from other people.
